How is this estimate calculated?
Room length × width × ceiling height × 55 watts per cubic metre ÷ 1,000 = indicative heating output in kW, rounded to one decimal place. This simple volume method follows the room-sizing factor in the Mitsubishi Electric sizing guide. It is not the Tenancy Services formula. For example, a 6 m × 5 m room with a 2.4 m ceiling gives approximately 4.0 kW.
Why should AirSmart check my room?
Insulation, glazing, draughts, outdoor temperatures, room layout and the heat pump’s performance all affect selection. The estimate does not model these heat losses. Very large spaces, high or sloped ceilings, adjoining open rooms and whole-home systems need a tailored assessment. Heating output is different from electricity consumption and cooling capacity.
What do I need for the official heating assessment?
Prepare the living room’s dimensions and details of walls, windows, floor, ceiling and construction. The official assessment uses more detailed inputs than this quick estimate. Read the Tenancy Services tool guide before starting. AirSmart’s calculator is independent and is not endorsed by Tenancy Services.
